Fall is near!

Standard

Hi Everyone! I hope your summer has been awesome!  Youth fall programming is just around the corner, and we are excited to relaunch for another year of SPMB youth.

This year, we are going to have a pre-kick off event on September 6.  All youth, parents, and anyone else is invited out at 7pm at SPMB for a worship night filled with celebrating Jesus and praying for our youth ministry.  What a great way to kick off the year.

Our official youth kick off events will be the next week. Jr youth (grade 6-8) will be at spmb on Sept 12. If the weather is good, part of the time will be outside, and come prepared for the giant banana split! Bring your favorite ice cream topping to make it even better.

Sr youth will kick off on Wednesday the 13th.  Bring a friend and your Bible, which is great advice for most events.

check the schedule tab for an overview of our schedule through December.

Summer youth

Standard

hey everyone! I hope your summer has been awesome so far. I’m working hard on fall youth events, and also some for this month as well. Here are a few things:  tomorrow (wednesday the 9th) BBQ at Dan’s place at 6. Bring a snack to share if you like. I’ll have hot dogs.

-Hike: Probably next monday the 14th. stay tuned

-Off the charts camp out music fest. August 19-20. Talk to your parents and let me know if you are interested in coming out for the 2 days. The cost is pretty low, but I’d like to know numbers soon if possible.

Another great night

Standard

Another good day and another great evening. Serving at our sites went well. Lots of cool stories of God at work.

Our evening session had a more serious time of reflection at the cross and some team time to share and pray. Story after story within our group told of the fruit of the spirit, experiences with Christ, joy, unity, and new ground taken for the kingdom. It’s another of those evenings my dear little youth pastor heart could nearly burst. God is good.

Please continue to pray now more than ever for more of God, energy, patience, and wisdom. Also pray for spiritual protection as the enemy pushes back against what God is accomplishing here.

One more full day of serving and learning here in Minneapolis.

Missions adventures

Standard

So we have completed half of our serving days. Things are going great. Teams are serving at thrift stores, helping older folks with yard work, painting, encouraging and praying for folks. God has been good!

Tonight we had an evening off spent at the mall, on a great hike, and ended off with an adventure trying getting to and from some 4th of July fireworks. Ask one van about our adventure with Janko the bike taxi guy.

God has been taking good care of us as we travel, serve, and show his love. We’ve seen him working through us, and seen Him in the folks we have served.

Please keep praying for energy, patience, and more opportunities to experience the depths God has for us.

Arrived!

Standard

After a great send off, we set out driving. The border crossing went smoothly, thank you Jesus!  The drive went well and we arrived on time and excited.

After unpacking and dinner, out first session had worship and teaching, and met our serving crews. The youth will be divided among other kids in groups of six or so and head out to serve starting tomorrow. Join us in praying for great sleep and opportunities to show Gods love all over Minneapolis tomorrow.

Baptism

Standard

Pretty excited for the weekend’s baptisms! If any of the baptism people haven’t had a chance to work through or practice sharing their testimony, make sure you do sometime. I’d be happy to meet up before the weekend if you need. Let me know if you’d like to set up a time.
